Help building a new home network
I'm in the process of building and setting up a new wireless network for my parents who are currently using a Velop wireless mesh router that's starting to die and would love some advice on what to replace it with.
They live in a three floor house with thick brick walls (9in) and floors (1.5ft) that are all marble or stone, so penetration issues might be a problem. Each floor is 2000sq.ft. They have a 100Mbps connection with a modem provided by the isp.
I personally use a edge router lite and a AP AC lite, and was thinking of using Ubiquiti products for them as well, although probably all Unifi products (although I'm open to all suggestions) because the user interface, set up and any troubleshooting issues seem easier to fix. Plus I could remotely log in and fix any problems they have.
My question is whether Ubiquiti would be a good choice and what products would you recommend. I was thinking a router and three AP's- one for each floor although I'm not sure which ones. They want something that is future proof for the next 5-10 years if possible and would be able to handle faster internet speeds if they decide to upgrade. The house is not wired for ethernet, but running cables from the router to each AP will not be a problem.
If anyone has suggestions for a different/easiebetter set up I'd be open to that as well. Not married to Ubiquiti its just what I use and am used too. Also they live in an area where power cuts are common, especially in the summer so not sure if that should affect my decision. Budget not a major concern but ideally 400-1000$.
Thanks for any and all advice!
