Opening Embedded PDF and Word docs in Excel via Command button
Hello. I have an xlsm that I wish to embed various forms and user guides in, in the form of PDFs and docx files. The xlsm will be used on multiple computers across locations.
To reduce clutter, I would like to user a command button on worksheet1 titled "Sheet 1 (Inputs)".
I've tried a few but I seem to keep getting a run time error 1004 - the item with specified name wasn't found OR run time error 1004 unable to get the oleobjects property of the worksheet class.
I may not know how to name the objects correctly. I am using the Ribbon>Insert>Object>Create from file. I check "display as icon" and do not check "link to file". I then right click the embedded PDF, select Acrobat Document Object>Convert to rename it as Object1.
The following is the code I've tried.
Private Sub CommandButtonMOA_Click()
'This macro launches the embedded MOA PDF renamed "Object1"
' This macro came from https://www.mrexcel.com/forum/excel-questions/466272-button-launch-embedded-object.html
'Original Macro as follows
' ActiveSheet.OLEObjects("Object 1").Activate
'First attempt (Object was still named MOA not object1)
'Set MOA.pdf = ws.OLEObjects(1)
'This resulted in runtime error. Tried the following as well.
'2nd through 5th attempts
